Wax of the Day: Fortune Cookie Soap - Vivid
Today, I am melting Vivid from Fortune Cookie Soap. I picked this one up from the company's website. They usually retail for $2.00 each.
Official Scent Description: Some people say it smells like Hawaiian fruit punch, others say it smells like a fruity cocktail! Whatever it is, it's an addicting sugary sweet love spell!
So, how'd this one do?
Initial Thoughts:
This is the 2nd melt that I have tried from this company. The first one (Polyjuice Potion) was beyond disappointing despite having quite a few reviews making some pretty big claims to the "amazing" performance.
I had melted that last one in a Glade warmer in my living room. So, I thought I would try this one in the Scentsationals bulb warmer in a much smaller space. (My bedroom is very tiny.)
So, I am hoping it does much better for me. I'm especially hoping because I have quite a few more tarts from this company to melt. Ugh, Haha.
Cold Impression:
It definitely smells sweet. It reminds me of a candy or gum that I used to have back in the 90s, but I can't place it. It smells pretty awesome: artificially fruity and sickly sweet with a little kick.
Performance and Stats:
What: 1/2 the tart (.6oz of wax)
How: Scentsationals warmer
Where: Bedroom (small, about 6' x 8')
Duration: 3hours (3:30pm - 6:30pm)
This one started off with a good medium throw with a scent that was true to cold. I was so happy, because it was already better than the last tart I had tried from FCS. It filled up my tiny room quite well, but it didn't spread out beyond it at all.
It faded significantly after about 2 hours. I had to be within about 3 feet to get any scent. By the 3 hour mark, the scent was gone.
I did remelt it this morning. I got a little bit of fragrance that went out a couple feet from the warmer. It went away again after about an hour.
Final Thoughts:
I keep forever having hope for these, because 95% of the reviews I have seen for them are saying how they are absolutely amazing with a great throw, able to be reheated several times, etc. I just haven't experienced that with these yet.
Like I said above, I do have several other tarts from this brand still to melt. So, we shall see if I have a different experience with any of that wax. As it stands right now, I would not repurchase wax melts from this brand again. I still live for their cuticle butter, though.

*Not sponsored in any way. I paid for this with my own money and all that jazz. I did have a coupon code from my Fortune Subscription box, but the shipping fee more than made up for that. Haha! :)
